Today we ventured out of Florence into some of the smaller towns of Tuscany, Siena and San Gimignano. Both about an hour outside of Florence.
Siena was great. Very hilly town and not many vehicles on the street. We saw two churches and a museum. The museum had a lookout you could climb up and see the city which was nice. Afterwards we went to the main square, Piazza del Campo... you may recognize this square from James Bond.
San Gimignano is a small town with walls all around and 8 tall towers. There are no vehicles in the city... very cool. I wandered around and on some streets it was completely silent. We had dinner here and topped it off with what was voted the best gelato of 2007 or so.
