My favorite was a painting by Leonardo DeVinci and his teacher. The teacher did most of the painting but let 14 year old Leo do an angel and half of the landscape in the background. Once the teacher saw that a 14 year old painted a better angel then him he quit painting for the rest of his life.
After the Uffizi we went back to the hostel to take a siesta. A new roommate came, cody from Atlanta. That evening we went with him to the Palazzo Pitti and the Santa Croce church.
Santa Croce was under cronstruction a lot. but you were able to see some. I think it would have been really nice if you could see it all. I did see the Grave of Michelangelo and Galileo. That was pretty neat. Dante is buried there as well... It was just covered up by scafolding.
Story behind this was the Pitti's were like the Medicci's rivals so to say. So they tried to out do the Medicci's by building this big palace. Well 3/4's of the way through they ran out of money. Eventually the Medicci's bought it out and not only completed it but added on.
The Museums we saw in it were from the Renaissance and some that was more modern. Afterwards we ate out at a nice restaurant. Not many photos today it was mostly all museums that prohibited.
